Release Candidates?

Hi all, Given the (as yet undisclosed) problems with 0.98.2 and its subsequent pulling, and the release of 0.98.3 which followed shortly thereafter and which also appears to be problematic for some, might it be worth considering reinstating Release Candidates again? If an announcement had been made either via the blog or this mailing list, it would allow people to test and find these issues before they hit the general public. Just a thought. Not sure what anyone else thinks about this, or why the RC announcements/builds stopped in the first place.
