I used mailfromd from 2009 to 2016, primarily for the simplicity of
using its interface to GeoIP data:

mail6:~$ >>> l `locate mailfromd.mf` | ...
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root    2961 Nov 24  2009 /etc/mail/old/d.mailfromd/mailfromd.rc.original
....
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   14395 Nov 12  2016 /etc/mail/old/d.mailfromd/mailfromd.mf

When I wrote about the very different takes on configuration files,
mailfromd was very much in my mind.  It was one of the first milters
which I replaced, so that I could do more things with GeoIP.
