 Yes, I have been aware of this problem for a good while, but have been
 unable to address it. It looks like MIME-tools 6, which is still in beta
 and also currently unmaintained :-(, provides some means of tackling it.
 I haven't got around to it yet, though.

 I believe amavisd-new deals with such mails differently.
