I couldn't say that this is true. I.E. Sophos detects W32/NetskyP-Dam
which NAI dosn't. The other way around is, that NAI i.e. sometimes detects
variants of W32/Lovgate.x@MM!zip and sophos not. I just would say its 
better to have 2 completing AVs.
