Well, there are two destructive effects of the bug: 1. segmentation fault of the child process, 2. removal of the socket. Nb. the *immediate* cause that makes any further analyses not possible is trivial: lack of the socket and so lack of communication with sophie daemon process (which runs happily and is not bothered any more after the error event).
