I received an email from Sophos Support:

"There was an issue with the update of 3.93 and SAVI with third party
products.

Please roll back and use 3.92, I will advise you early next week when the
issue has been resolved."

I ran the glibc-2.2 version of Sophos 3.93 against sophie and Redhat glibc
2.2, and it still gave the corrupt file results. Tis not just a problem on
libc2.3. I might go back and try the non-libc2.2 Sophos if time permits.
