Assuming you're seeing this under Linux (you didn't provide any
information), summary:

- it's a known problem: something new in Sophos 3.93 triggering a problem
with the recent libc's under Linux when Sophie runs as a daemon
under a non-root UID
- no fix from Sophos so far
- downgrade to 3.92 or apply a tentative patch to Sophie 3.0rc2
