We have rolled the recent patch into Sophie to produce a version that handles
the new SAVI semaphore issue. Since v3.04rc2 has been in circulation for
some time now, it seemed safe to call it a real release. Note that on the
Linux platform only this new v3.04 will work with versions of Sophos Anti-
Virus later than 3.93 (May 2005).

Sophos have confirmed that they will not be reversing the changes that
caused SAVI to report files as corrupt when scanned by Sophie in daemon
mode. This was due to the introduction of new semaphores to enhance thread
safety around the engine. If you want to continue using the latest versions
of Sophos Anti-Virus with Sophie v3.x you will need to upgrade to v3.04 soon.

The new version is available from http://www.clanfield.info/sophie

We will also be revisiting some of the Sophie code in coming weeks to reflect
changes in SAVI over the past year. This may also be an opportunity to
address any feature wishlists you may have, although I'm not promising
anything. Please let me know if there are any issues that you'd like to see
addressed.

Regards
Rich
