A number of people have asked about using Sophie with SAV v5.x for Linux. This new version of SAV includes things like on-access scanning and automated updating. It uses exactly the same version of SAVI, virus engine and virus data as SAV v5.x so it doesn't give any additional protection with Sophie over and above what you can already get with SAV v4.x. It's probably best not to switch unless you really need the extra functionality (GUI, on-access scanning, etc) for now, as it does potentially add some complexities. It is also only supported on certain distros. However, I've put together some initial thoughts on how best to use Sophie on a system with SAV v5.x and posted them at http://www.clanfield.info/sophie/USING-SAV-v5.x for anyone who's interested. These ideas are by no means complete and have not undergone extensive testing, so YMMV. Please let me have any feedback if you do try this. Regards Rich P.S.
