Re: Malware database

Check out WinMHR by Team Cymru. They perform malware research. WinMHR  
is a huge database of known malware collected from the wild. Caveat:  
you search for malware based not on file names but on the hash value  
(MD5 or Sha1 I believe). Which might actually be better because it's  
much easier to simply change file names than to recode existing  
malware to give it a different hash value.

There are free hash tools such as Win MD5 and Easy Hash.
