Speed

I just put a netopia VPN up between Andover NJ and Knoxville Tenn, using safenet as the 
IPSec client.  Any ideas why it is so slow, and how to speed it up?  It is an accountant 
looking at a 168 meg quickbooks file.  I suspect its size matters but any ideas?
