RE: Nortel Contivity Client for Mac OS X

Make sure you are using a version of the Contivity server software which
supports "non-Contivity" VPN clients.  The Mac client for Nortel Contivity
is actually OEM's though Netlock (http://www.netlock.com/) and requires
separate licensing per seat (rather than the unlimited per-seat "free"
licensing for the Windows client ...you just pay for the Server license and
optionsl support contract).

The server "group" has to be configured to allow non-Contivity (a.k.a.
non-Windows Contivity) VPN clients.  There are technotes on Nortel's (and
Netlock's) site which outline how to configure and connect.

My guess is that the VPN administrator is using the Contivity Server
software that has the ability to limit what versions of software are able to
be logged in.

For example - I have our VPN appliances set that there is a minimum version
allowed. This setting is for Windows clients only - and won't allow the MAC
version.

Ask your administrator if you're using a shared secret or certificates for
securing the VPN. You'll need one or the other from the administrator, just
like a Windows Contivity user would.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here. Are you looking for a remote
control solution so you can see your work desktop over the VPN? If so,
search Google for VNC, it works across multiple platforms.
