Take a look at the event log on the responder (the NS-1000). It will give you an indication as to where the negotiation is failing. If you could put in a snippet of the log file showing the negotiation, it would be very helpful in troubleshooting this. I am trying to connect to my work LAN from my home pc over a cable Internet connection with a dynamic IP. My home network is behind a Netscreen 5 and our LAN is behind a Netscreen 1000. I can't establish a connection for the life of me. Do I need a remote vpn client or can I just go straight through the NS5? I have set up the VPN gateway, IKE and incoming and outgoing policies on the NS5 and 1000 but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? Hints? Documentation? I really appreciate your input.
