That's the deal. You can post using HTTP from Yahoo's web interface,
and NNTP and SMTP using your favorite email software.

I set my Yahoo profile to Special-Notices and now use the newsgroup.

Believe it or not, all this work is reducing work!

You still sign keys, but now your signature means a little more to a
lot more people. You can still keep in touch on the mailing list, but
now you have the option of connecting over NNTP so you don't have to
worry about maintaining a mailing list subscription (but remember the
benefits such as the Files and Links).

You can set no-mail (special-notices if you're a moderator) on your
Yahoo subscription to take advantage of the newsgroup and retain
access to special content on the Yahoo Group.
