I have installed Zebedee to have a faster connection btw a Firebird
client and the database server.
However results are disappointing and I cannot understand why.
On the server side, I write
zebedee -s localhost:3050 -z zlib:6
on the client side, I write
zebedee -z zlib:6 3051:irel:3050
("irel" is the server name).
Done that, I can connect to the server with
localhost/3051:/root/foo/test.gdb
However, time improvement is almost non existant.
For instance, the procedure that opens most queries at the program
startup takes 32.350 sec w/o zebedee.
With zebedee, the time becomes 31.300 .
As with zebedee a disk read is missing (I hardcoded the access address
during the test) it seems that time difference is negligible.
I was (and am) expecting much better results.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thank you
