I did briefly have transactional replication running over a couple of 
zebedee links (need two links, as connections could be made from 
either end). This was under NT4, I think it has got progressively 
harder with W2K, XP and W2K3 server, and being able to listen on rpc 
ports for localhost ip addresses. If you have a Unix/Linux box at each 
end to do the zebedee bits it may be easier but I haven't tried it.

From what I remember you need to limit the ports that RPC will use for 
connections :-

A liberal sprinkling of Alias names to make SQL Server think the 
machine that is running zebedee is the server at the other end of the 
link.

All that and 4 instances of zebedee.exe, 2 server, 2 client, 1 of each 
at each end.

I can dig out the config of zebedee I used if you think it would be 
useful.
