zebedee to the rescue

To the rescue. or so I hope at least. Our local security guys are making life difficult by not encapsulating our LAN with a firewall, but additionally putting up firewalls between subnets of the LAN. Currently I'm in subnet A and have heavy restrictions on what network traffic I can generate; while a friend is in B and can use chat/p2p/etc with others in B, C and D. Zebedee seems to be the perfect solution, as I'm trying to find a way to run DC++ via a tunnel to my friend in B so I get access to the DC hubs present in B, C and D. Unfortunately I only have a high-level notion of "this should be possible with zebedee", but no practical understanding of the necessary commands and settings; thus I hope somebody here on the mailing list can help me out (please reply directly, I haven't joined the mailing list yet). These are the details as I know/understand them - please bear with inadequacies and incompleteness: * My subnet A has its own private firewall with holes for all major functions (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, etc) as well as a port hole at X * Various other subnets are present along various routers, several of which have firewalls up with some or other form of asymmetric rules allowing some ports (HTTP and SSH, I'm reasonably sure - but very restrictive). Port-hole X isn't present * DC++ communicates on basic port 411 (though may alter with different hubs) * DC++ sends out TCP traffic (port range 1025 - 32000, may be specified) * DC++ receives TCP and UDP traffic (port range 1025 - 32000, may be specified) * DC++ itself allows incoming traffic to use "Firewall with manual port forwarding" and can use SOCKS5 outgoing connections. Is it a lost cause, or can zebedee find a way through the mess? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance Henri
