Hi all, I've put a new development release -- 2.5.2 -- up on Sourceforge (see http://sf.net/projects/zebedee). I wasn't really planning on adding new features this time round, but a few seem to have sneaked in :-) The changes are outlined below but there's a couple of things I need to point out. The first is that I had to break protocol compatibility with 2.5.1 to fix cross-platform interoperability. I'm sorry, but that's why this is still a development release. However, as I realise a number of you might have deployed 2.5.1 more widely there is a *temporary* workaround. If you set "bugcompatibility" to "251" it will behave exactly as at present. This means it won't work between, say, Intel and SPARC systems but will work between systems of the same type. The other main area is in improved "reverse-mode" operation. The "out of the box" behaviour should be pretty much the same as previously, but I have implemented the long-requested feature for the server to loop round repeatedly trying to contact the client. I'll probably need to give some more concrete examples later as you might find the manual descriptions a bit terse. I'm also aware that there may be a lurking bug where Zebedee unexpectedly terminates when using maximum encryption, compression, checksumming and buffer sizes. I hope I've fixed it but any further bug reports on this will be useful. Anyway, please give this a hammering, particularly on multiple platforms if at all possible. Regards, Neil Change log follows ... * Release 2.5.2 Cross-platform fix for checksumming code. This is *incompatible* with version 2.5.1. As a temporary workaround, setting "bugcompatibility 251" will maintain compatibility with release 2.5.1 for little-endian platforms (e.g. Intel). This will be removed from the final production release. Upgrade to Inno Setup 4. More documentation fixes. Increased the default thread stack size to 64k and added "threadstacksize" for debug/test purposes. Fix handling of HTTP/1.1 responses from proxies. Added acceptconnecttimeout (supersedes "connecttimeout") along with connectattempts, serverconnecttimeout and targetconnecttimeout. Fixed bug with "clienthost" not being honoured when Zebedee was used as a service. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
