Compiling problem

When I try to compile zebedee 2.5.2 I get the following message:

make OS=linux

gcc -pthread -Wall -O3 -DHAVE_PTHREADS -I.  /usr/include/openssl
-I../zlib-1.1.4    -c -o zebedee.o zebedee.c
gcc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations
make: *** [zebedee.o] Error 1

I use gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk)
and below I report the modified (by me) part of Makefile:

 Location of Blowfish include and library

BFLIB = -lcrypto

So may Anyone have any suggestion?
