Summary: Upgrader could be nicer

Initial Comment:
This is low priority, but -

When checking for new plugins:

"Hint: You can upgrade multiple plugins at once by clicking the upgrade-link with your middle mouse button, so that it opens in a new window/tab of your browser. Note that upgrading all plugins automatically could lead to network timeouts and garbaged files, thus this functionality does not exist intentionally."

It doesn't have to be that way - why not just download the files to /tmp or somewhere, then move them over once the whole plugin is successfully retrieved? Unless I'm missing something, network issues can still happen mid-retrieval, it's just less likely than when doing a whole lot of plugins. This way might be a bit safer too.

I may have a go at this myself sometime.

Hi!

This would be possible, but move the network timeout and garbaged file
problem to badly uploaded /tmp files.

All in all, PHP is very picky about downloading files from foreign network
locations, if there are many files at once.

But I agree, if the upgrader could be improved by using temporary
downloads, that would be awesome.

Regards,
Garvin
