After some simple tests, the problem occurs when an image is inserted at the start of the content only. If the content starts with a paragraph of text, then the problem does not occur. When inserting an image first, text appears as it should, but the image disappears in the preview, WYSIWYG editor, and saved content. I didn't encounter the problem when saving without previewing.
