Good morning all,

zsh.org has had hardware problems (multiple disks failed) and went down
c. 2025-12-18. We have been gradually restoring services since then.

Amongst other things, we restored from backups the subscribers list as
it stood on 2025-11-26.

If you have unsubscribed from the lists between approximately 2025-11-26
and 2025-12-18, we regret that we have to ask you to unsubscribe again.
Please do unsubscribe again, or write to listmaster@ and ask for them to
unsubscribe you. We apologize for the inconvenience, but very few of us
have access to read the subscribers list or back it up, and they're all
volunteers.

In the meantime, traffic to most @zsh.org addresses is now flowing as
usual; posts to -users@ and -workers@,¹ however, will be accepted by our
inbound MTA but held (using Exim's «control = freeze»), and only
released ${N} hours from the time of this announcement post, in order to
let people unsubscribe again. I'll set it to N == 48 for now, but if
that's too long, or too short, we will change it accordingly.

We have also upgraded the OS and various software packages, so if
anything isn't working as it should, do let us know.

Happy new year,

Daniel Shahaf
