WorkflowMediator.java explanation

Hi,

Does anyone know how the WorkflowMediator.java file (that mediates between 
the activities to be performed by the system for a workflow and activities 
to be performed by other participants as well), calls the IdpServlet.java??

And the opposite? I.e. how from the IdpServlet.java the 
WorkFlowMediator.java calls the SpServlet.java?
