I don't believe dap has any remote database code, but Susan could say
for sure.  Or you could grep the source :).

    Is this project still alive?

As you can see, Susan hasn't had time to work on updates for many
years.  Other people have volunteered, but nothing has come to
fruition yet.  An active development volunteer to make a new release,
even if just for infrastructure, would be most welcome.
