Re: HUP or reload

Hello,

Using either version is fine. But I think actually you should prefer syslog-ng-ctl reload, specially in case of scripting as the later waits for reload to happen and the command return code indicates if reload was success or failure. That is a nice addition.

Are there certain circumstances where I should prefer doing a HUP on the syslog-ng process instead of syslog-ng-ctl reload?   My use case specifically is for postrotate but I'm also asking generally.
