Continuing resume playing problems with Clipzip

I had upgraded a sansa clipzip to the latest build and am having
problems resuming to the same point in the file at which it stopped.
I have the startup screen set to Resume Playback.  If I select a file
to play from the file menu then it will resume playback at the same
point at which I turned the clipzip off.
If I use the playlist it resumes playback at the beginning of the
first entry in the playlist.  Versions prior to 3.13 worked as
expected.  I've checked all the settings I can think of.  I had the
same problem with a sansa e200 but could install 3.12 to cure the
problem.  thanks
