Alternatively could you try an older version of rockbox utility (assuming
that you originally used an older version in the past, which was when you
successfully installed rockbox onto your working H10s). It's not unheard of
for there to be bugs in the utility, and it does seem to be consistently
failing to install rockbox correctly. You could even validate that
hypothesis by reformatting one of your working H10s, reinstalling the
iriver firmware, and then rerunning the latest rockbox utility to reinstall
rockbox - although I appreciate you might not actually want to do that (in
case you just end up increasing the size of your collection of 'broken'
H10s by 1).
