Hello Steph:

You mentioned

“There's also an android version of rockbox”

Could you tell me where I could find some specs on it please?

My Clip Zip is aging so I’m always on the lookout for something new.

Ross

There's also an android version of rockbox. Bear in mind it may or may not work depending on the phone or build. I used it without problem on a Samsung Galaxy S. I had to find old builds for a Galaxy S2 and a Motorola Defy, on those two rb freezes (keeps playing but cannot be controlled) every now & then.

Hello:

Why not get your hands on an older Android phone which has “Talkback” and use it as an MP3 player. You can access the phone via Windows Explorer and transfer files to your heart’s content.

Not only that, but you can use such MP3 playing apps such as Winamp ETC.

Cheers.

Refurbished clip, clip+, clip zip used to be a good option : cheap & as new... but since they have been discontinued by Sandisk they are not as easy to find. If you find any of them, I suggest you get a couble of them for both of you,

Regards,

Hello List,

I'd like to get an idea as to what mp3 players the list is using and
what you like and don't like about them.

For my girlfriend and I, both of which use rockbox on our players the
Sandisk Sansa clip/zip are getting a little hard to find in my area,
i.e. going in to stores they are becoming not available, yes we're a
little old fashion that way.

We're looking for players that we can go out and get, at Best Buy or
Walmart or wherever, with one exception, she's not interested in
anything apple.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks.
Dave.
