Why bother ? I have got a Clip zip, I am sighted and I use rockbox instead of original firmware. By the way you don't have to get rid of rockbox to be able to start in original firmware. Start your clip zip by pressing power button and left key on the pad simultaneously, that will do the job.
It's all in the manual by the way, and your sister could read it.
