Thanks a bunch.
I was able to compare your build with the official one and I have arrived at a discovery. Now I think that the problem lies elsewhere.
When it comes to cuesheets, it seems that your build behaves exactly like the official one. I think both builds work, it's just that the behavior is different from what I expected/remembered. I think that after pressing play on a cuesheet file the list of chapters appears, but there's no voice feedback. It's possible to select chapters by using the wheel on my device and pressing play does seem to jump to the correct chapter, but even once a chapter is playing, there's no voice feedback when scrolling through the playlist with the wheel. This does not happen with normal m3u or m3u8 playlists. Furthermore, previous and next don't jump to the next or previous chapters. The audio format does not seem to make a difference. I've tested it with a FLAC image + CUE combination and it behaved the s
 ame.
Now, when I embed the CUE into the flac directly, playback starts immediately and next/previous can be used to change tracks without no problems.
So in short, it would be great if cuesheets behaved more similar to either the other playlist formats, or they should just start playing back the music file immediately just like when the CUE is embedded (which does not happen at the moment). Either way, I think that next/previous should be usable when switching tracks.
Hope that was helpful. Perhaps this task should be renamed. Or I can also open separate tasks for the topics I've touched upon.
