The following task has a new comment added: FS#13584 - Voice database metadata User who did this - Solomon Peachy (speachy) ---------- My expectation is that yes, the talk clips would still need to be externally generated, presumably via rbutil and/or the command line tools. Embedding some sort of TTS engine into Rockbox itself opens up a lot of interesting use cases, but the hurdles are generally technical in nature rather than licensing. The exact on-disk structure has yet to be defined but I'd expect it to exist separately from the "normal" file hierarchy.
