In case you're wondering if your machine could be upgraded to a newer version of the OS, or if that used machine might work for you, you can search the following to see what versions of IBM i run on what models of Power systems.
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system-ibm-i-mapping

You can do some pattern analysis here to get some general rules.
The last system to support 7.2 was P9's
The last system to support 7.1 was P8's
...
I'm interpolating that Power 10 will be the last system to support 7.3, probably confirmed by End of service for 7.3 is next year.

7.3 required Power 7 or above
7.4 required Power 8 or above
7.5 required Power 9 or above (big factor in why we are upgrading to P10, we still have one Power 8 - to be unplugged in February)
I'm interpolating that rNext will require Power 10 or above. (another reason why we are upgrading to P10)

We stick with the latest and greatest.
We also have an LX upgrade in the works because we are rather exceeding support with 8.3.03 on 7.5
