Subject: RE: How can I "wow" developers with CODE in WDSc 5.0?

I use the CODE/400 editor right now. Does the LPLEX editor come with
CODE/400? If so, where can I find it? I tried searching my PC for
"LPLEX". I tried looking through all the options from the start menu and
didn't have any luck. I'd like to try to use the LPLEX editor and the RSE
for learning purposes and hopefully decide which is better for me to use.

Thanks,

Frank

First, use the LPLEX editor instead of CODE.

Second, use the Remote System Explorer (RSE).

When you bring up a program to edit with LPLEX, you get a panel on the
right
of the screen that shows files, subroutines, etc. Double click on any item
and the editor will position to that point.

A co-worker who develops in VB (along with RPG) was always comparing CODE.
His VB editor would bring up a list of possible op codes when you started
typing. Now with LPLEX you get that too. Key in the % sign and you get a
popup window.

This co-worker would sometimes use the old version of CODE. He installed
version 4.0 on his notebook before going to the Las Vegas Conference. He
has
now changed the O/S on the notebook so he could install the 5.0.1 version
and upgraded his desktop because of the things he saw there.

He is now a convert.

I wouldn't write code any other way now.
