Then lead! Convince the company to make a one-time expenditure to soup
up one machine (yours). In return, you'll provide a competitive
analysis identifying whether or not the benefits of WDSCi and/or the new
WDT can justify the expense of the hardware for other users. Make sure
it's known throughout the office that this is purely a proof of concept,
and that they should be supportive because if you find it productive, it
may be enough to sway management.

I am a solid, dyed-in-the-wool green screen guy, but over the last three
months I have found my time has shifted to as much as 50% or more WDSCi
over SEU, if for nothing else for the ability to have 50 or more lines
of code on the screen at once, or to do side-by-side editing. I have a
quibble with the fact that you can't maximize the editing pane AND have
side-by-side editing at the same time; that's plain silly. But other
than that, I'm finding more and more good stuff with WDSC (the procedure
wizard in 5.1 is a nice touch!).
