Thanks for your reply.

There are many /copy statements in my source.

I never thought to check the communications log.  Next time it happens I'll 
take a look.

The verify.lst file shows with no problem.

Your suggestion to save as a local file first sounds promising.  I'll try it 
and see if it helps.

I'll be sure to let you know my progress.
