I have almost 4,000 objects in this directory.
Many .gif files.
Sort by changed date shows the newest changed date as:  08/31/01 09:32 and the used date of 10/16/02 15:22
I'm getting the idea they are vestiges of Domino 4.6 and are no longer needed.
Closest reference I can find is:
