We used MTHACTX, MTHACTY, and MTHACTZ regularly, and cross-referenced it against history to verify accuracy, and it always tied out. We never tried bookings - didn't fit our model, although I looked into it (the project was cancelled). And all of our orders came in through either COM_Net, CSM, or off-line load, and the MTHACT files were always accurate. I've found for shipping and invoicing it is pertty accurate. But never found this useful for bookings. The complexity of this is the fact a booking could be a change to an existing order, price, quantity, or cancellation. Just too many variables not reflected in here. You can look at the CSM Open order files as far as create dates, at line item and the order level but this does not reflect changes as well. Also, if an order is entered and shipped the same day it could be "lost" so you need to look at the respective shipping order files to identify these to include in your metrics (so not in one nice place). In theory one could use the MNHDTL if maintenance history if turned on to see changes to existing orders and reflect this in your booking numbers on top of looking at create dates on order/line items. But obviously messy. I'd love to hear any other ideas people have here. It has always been an issue. No good way to tap into this w/o some complex rules and programming. ------------------------------------------- Kevin Gerard, Senior Technical Consultant TriMin Systems, Inc. - Infor Channel Partner [1]kevin.gerard-IaJHbxZe/[email protected] Direct 309-932-3103 Mobile 309-883-1689 [2]www.triminmfg.com "We are committed to helping manufacturing companies improve their Visibility, Productivity, Growth and Profitability" -----mapics-l-bounces-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] wrote: ----- To: "mapics-l-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected]" <mapics-l-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected]> From: Tom E Stieger <TEStieger-7y5+ka1ulstWk0Htik3J/[email protected]> Sent by: mapics-l-bounces-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Date: 09/01/2009 09:59AM Subject: [MAPICS-L] MTHACTE In a follow up to a posting a few weeks ago, I was wondering who out there is using the MTHACT files to track sales activity. We are attempting to use MTHACTE to track are sales booking activity on the date of the transaction and keep finding errors in the data. There seems to be a lot of bugs lately with the updating of these files through CSM maintenance activities that don't show up when you are doing the same activity through COM. What are other people doing to make sure the data is accurate? Thanks for you input. -Tom Stieger Engineer California Fine Wire _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: [3]http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at [4]http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l.
