I assume you have contacted Support.  They can advise you of how to do this within XA.  I can assure you that if you just change the MXAPLUS password, things will stop working.

Hello,

Any comments on attempting to change the passwords for MXAPLUS or
MXAWRKLFW profiles?

We have a SOX requirement forcing us to look at this.  I did not find
any info on the ML.

We typically just change AMAPICS, QSECOFR, QSYSOPR, and all the AS400 Q*
profiles.
