We needed that also at my prior employer, and it just plain wasn't in XAR6.  We designed and had a neat function written by one of our affiliate's programmers.  I'm away from my office and don't have his email readily available, but you could contact Pete Oshavsky at Guide Technologies - he's who came up with how to do it, and we used it a LOT.  We ran it as a batch job every evening that created indented costed BOMs for our end items, and I "Browserized" the file - VERY useful!!!

I think Pete also monitors this thread, perhaps he can contact you if he notices this.
