I'm wrapping up our first week under V7.8. Just finished the jump from R6 to R78. Contact me offline, and I'll gladly, and at length, tell you stories about our experience. Everything from the Migration Tool, to Business Objects, to the Rename Environment Tool, and so on. Catch me before I forget it all! Be prepared to go through several, convert & test cycles. It appears that there are enough variables that every site seems to be unique. The main gotcha has been the migration tool and how it converts from Browser to Power Link. Each time a new version of the tool is downloaded and run, previous problems are fixed but new ones appear. Note that we are making full use of Browser and Integrator at R6 so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Green screen migrated without issue. Does it run interactively or will it submit something to batch? It does not populate the new environment with data from an existing environment correct, that is done separately I hope. I assume it will ask me what to name the new environment? We are converting from version 6 to 7.8 anyone have some gotchas to be aware of?
