We have just gone Live with Release 9 on July 12th  after migration from
release 7.8. The migration path is fairly straightforward as there are
some excellent migration tools provided by INFOR. All our in house
modifications and reports etc were all re-applied successfully.

We moved to 7.8 last year without issue as well

Of the 2 I would recommend moving straight  to release 9 if you have all
the essentials as all of the green screen functionality is now in
browser/power link as level 1 or level 2 IDF. The allows users to work
completely in Power link without the need to switch back to green
screen.

A windows 2003 server is required to serve the host presentation server
for the green screen conversions in IDF level 1

I would recommend taking enterprise integrator if you don't have that,
especially if you have in house programs or databases that you may wish
to move into the new format.

Release 9 went G.A as of April 1 this year but was out for testing with
affiliates and beta testers from late 2009

I have had no major issues any minor glitches were resolved quickly

We are on release 6 of MAPICS and trying to decide if we should go to
REL 7.8 or REL 9.  Has anyone made the jump to release 9?  Does anyone
know how long release 9 has been out?  Any know big issues with it?
