Backflushing on split orders

Has anyone out there used manufacturing order splits and controlled floor stock backflushing at the same time? I'm wondering what happens when the split is RM'd - I would guess that the materials aren't backflushed because there are no material detail records on the split, unless there's been a change since I last looked at it.
