Standard rule of thumb I try to follow - make sure that the key field(s) for an IDF object are unique, otherwise strange behavior will occur. If you look at the logical files built over MTHACTE via DSPDBR the logical MTHACTT0 is built for updating the file. (Its description says "update index".) The update indexes are usually unique and you can use the same key fields when defining the object.
