Mapics's GL Accounting Code Structure

Hi there,

Our company's current GL accounting code was designed to conduct product PL analysis.  Product ID is part of GL code, one of the segments.

If we like to analyze customer PL, would that be possible to do?  We consider two options,  leave current GL codes intact, create
another set of GL code for customer only.  We have three companies right now, each company has its own set of GL.  We can create company 4
for customer oriented GL entries.

Another option is to modify current GL code, add customer ID as part of GL segment.  Problem of this option is GL code exceeded 15 digits, secondly
Can product and customer GL coexist in Mapics?

I do not know whether this is feasible to do, any implications to existing GL interfaces with other Mapics applications like COM, AR, AP, IM etc.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated.  Any Mapics GL consultant is welcomed to explore potential consulting project with us

The purpose of this project is to make creation of our company's product PL and customer PL before contribution margin line possible
