Due Date for Components of Mfg Order

We want to create a “hot list” of component items that are required to meet finished goods customer requirement.  The due date of the component items needs to be tied to the customer requirement date NOT the manufacturing order due date.   If anyone else has this issue they will more fully understand the problem.  Just in time shipping means you may not complete the entire manufacturing order on its due date but only want to meet the customer requirement date.  I am also interested in Advanced Planner users.  We have license but have not implemented this product.
