Using Excel, VS2010 and SystemLink to update a file

I asked this on the www.xaeigroup.com as well.  But thought I would ask here to see if anyone would be willing to share some code.  I am using Visual Studio 2010 and using VB (and am not a expert at it) and I've been able to read data from SystemLink but I can't seem to figure out how to do a change.  I would like to use it to start uploading data from Excel to SystemLink and get a response if there are errors or not.  Infor has an example in C# but I can't seem to get the syntax right.
