I am an IT department of 1 AS400 person.  So I know what you mean,

It is a huge project to upgrade.  We were at release 6 also.  I went with 
the highest level I could.  9.1 came out  a month before conversion, so I 
could mess things up being that close, or I would have went right to 9.1.

My idea is if you are going to spend that much time you might just as well 
go to the latest and greatest or you will be behind before you up and 
running.   Well I was still behind by the time I got up and running this 
April.  Now I have to plan an upgrade to 9.1. YIPPEE!

I have a simple question that I think does not have a simple answer.  We
are a small it department of 2, we need to upgrade our current release
of MAPICS, the question is which release should we go to?  We have a
large investment in KBC that we do not want to lose at this time.  we
are currently at release 6. Does anyone have any suggestions on which
release we should go to? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
