a) Yes, all runs are full runs.
b) Since XA handles the conflicts on its own we don't do anything extra to put it in dedicated mode.
c) In my experience the net change isn't any faster so we always do a full run.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,

My previous experience points me upto Rel 6 only so I have no idea how a MRP run will perform after that level help but I have few questions:

a) Do you run 2 full MPR executions?
b) Do you run them under a "dedicated mode"?
c) Have you tested running a MRP FULL Run and then an MRP NET run to see how much it takes?

On Rel 6, MRP NET Run was very slow so we were running MRP Full runs only ... and we also had a similar scenario compared to yours in terms of no program modifications during the imp0lementation of this, we do clear and set up few critical files, etc...

Subject: [MAPICS-L] MRP run time

I have a question regarding MRP run time. We've installed ISL and CFL which requires running MRP twice for some warehouses. The total MRP/MPSP run was taking about 4 ½ hours. Suddenly it jumped an additional two hours. There's no new data or program changes, we clear recommendations from PLNORD, ORDREV, and REQMTS before each run, we turned off the reports. Short of turning on another processor, what other suggestions are out there to make MRP/MPSP run faster? We are on 7.8.
