XA Refreshes

I did some searching in the archives on the subject of refreshing a Test XA Environment from a Production XA Environment. I found some entries from 2012. Most said to do a save/restore. One or two said to use the Update Environment feature. We recently upgraded to release 9.1.2. I am wondering if release 9 brings anything new to the table. I have scratched the surface on what is new in the release and one of the things I came across is it looks like there is some sort of replication in SystemLink. 1. Does release 9 provide anything new in the world of refreshing? 2. Are there any different options when the From and To Environments are on the same LPAR? 3. Anything new on this subject since 2012?
