Thanks Dale - I already have an AS/400 profile for the user; haven’t cracked it yet, but assume it is an authorisation issue.

You have to first add the user under Option 5, Work with XA User Profiles.

On our development system I am trying to Create a new Mapics user; never had to do this before on my profile (very much a legacy system), so bear with me...

From Security Maintenance menu (AMZM38) I've tried

  1.  F10 to display the Action List Panel (which does appear) but there's no option to "Work With MAPICS Profiles" as the manual suggests there should be.
  2.  I also tried Option 2 "User authorizations"; F6 Edit Users, F6 Add; This gets me to an "Add" screen but whatever I put in gets me "(E) User not found" (even though there IS an AS/400 User profile)

I thought it might be that I have insufficient authorisation - but even when  I set myself as *SECOFR I get the same.

Can anyone tell me what's missing from this picture? Much obliged :)
